Coats y jackets
Women’s coats and jackets are guest garments that are often overlooked, but they define the final look and are very important. Wearing the right outerwear at an event is essential for your outfit to be a success or a failure.
Guest jackets and coats are usually worn on different occasions depending on the weather: if you have a wedding in a cool location, if it’s a winter or mid-season event, at outdoor weddings and ceremonies (since the wind can make you feel cold), and at religious ceremonies. In these types of ceremonies, it is not appropriate to show too much of the back, neckline, or shoulders. That’s why, in many cases (depending on the event’s protocol), it is necessary to wear an outer garment or a shawl.
The jacket or coat you choose for a special event should be as simple as possible so it doesn’t take attention away from the dress, and so it can also serve as a wardrobe staple for other formal occasions.
On the other hand, if you opt for outerwear, a jacket, or a shawl with a print or a bold detail, we recommend choosing a dress that is as understated as possible. That way, you can play with accessories (coat or shawl, jewelry, shoes, and evening bag) to create a perfect look.
If the dress is long, you can go for a bolero-style cut, above the waist, or for a longer garment, below the hips. This way, you won’t lose harmony with the dress. Always choose pieces that match the cut of the dress.
If, on the contrary, your dress is short or a cocktail dress, it’s best to choose outerwear or a jacket that is about 5–10 centimeters above the hemline of the dress.
